Also called solar panels, a solar module is a single photovoltaic panel that is an assembly of connected solar cells. The solar cells absorb sunlight as a source of energy to generate electricity. An array of modules is used to supply power to buildings / homes / factories. The solar cells’ efficiency and wattage output can vary depending on the type and quality of solar cells used. A solar module can range in energy production from 100-450 Watts of DC electricity. The higher wattage output, the more energy production per solar module. A solar array of modules consisting of higher energy-producing solar modules will, therefore, produce more electricity in less space than an array of lower producing modules. However, the cost is higher for greater producing modules.

A solar Inverter is a type of electrical converter which converts the variable direct current (DC) output of a photovoltaic (PV) solar panel into a utility frequency alternating current (AC) that can be fed into a commercial electrical grid or used by a consumer, off-grid electrical network. It is a critical balance of system (BOS) –component in a photovoltaic system, allowing the use of ordinary AC-powered equipment. Each solar array has a number of solar modules connected in parallel or series. Every solar PV panel generates current by converting solar radiation to electrical energy. The electrical energy from the entire array is controlled, tuned and directed by the inbuilt controller in DC pumps or through the Variable Frequency Driver (VFD) and enables the connected pump (may be submersible or surface) to draw water and feed the delivery pipelines. The water thus drawn from ponds, rivers, bore wells or other sources by a solar water pump is pumped to supply water as required. It can be stored in tanks from where it is later channeled to fields or the supply from the pump may be coupled with drip irrigation systems to provide optimized water to fields directly.
